Catarina Meireles. I am currently the Head of Translational Cytometry (TraCy) Scientific Platform in Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde of University of Porto. I completed my PhD in 2018 by University of Porto in which my studies mainly focused in the development and progenitor capacity of thymic epithelial cells. I obtained may bachelor in Microbiology by Universidade Católica Portuguesa and the master in Molecular Genetics by Universidade do Minho. I am co-author of 8 published articles in Immunolugy area and 2 published papers in microbiology field. I was the only organizer of a 4-days workshop in Flow Cytometry. I have received 3 awards in international and national conferences. Since 2017, I am also an invited professor to the lecture of theoretical and practical classes about Flow Cytometry at University of Porto, Bragança, Aveiro and University of Minho. Since the end of 2021, I am the coordinator of the national flow cytometry network, named PT-FlowCyt, which involves 19 national institutions that submitted to FCT the intention to integrate National Roadmap for Research Infrastructures (RNIE).

2021/03/08 - 2021/03/22 TraCy Talks¿ aim to show the most frequent and recent applications of Flow Cytometry in different areas of research. As such, this initiative meant to transmit what are the best practices from up-to-date theory to experimental approaches by an expert in the field, concluding with a review of protocols minimizing frequent errors. ¿Tracy Talks¿ will take place on regular basis, with each edition having a main theme to be subdivided in related topics and explored.
