João Guerreiro

João Guerreiro, full professor since 2005. Doctorate in Economic Sciences. Aggregation in Regional Economy from the University of Algarve. Founder of the Regional Innovation Centre for Algarve (former name of CRIA). He was the Scientific Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Division (CRIA) of the University of Algarve. His work pays particular attention to Regional Innovation Systems, Entrepreneurship and areas of knowledge transfer in collaboration with regional authorities for the design of regional strategic plans for Algarve, such as the Regional Plan of Smart Specialization of Algarve (RIS3). Former Rector of the University of Algarve (2006-2013). João Guerreiro has coordinated a government work group devoted to the internationalization of Portuguese universities. He was the President of the National Commission for Access to Higher Education (2012-2020). Now, he is the President of the Management Board of the Portuguese Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation of Higher Education.
