Completed the Integrated Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico in 2008. The degree culminated in a six-month research internship at the Institut Français du Pétrole (Lyon), where the work focused on the production of green diesel from vegetable oils. Has accumulated over ten years of industrial experience, particularly in the cement sector, with roles in laboratory management and quality control of alternative fuels supplied to cement plants, as well as in process engineering, cement grinding supervision, and production planning management at the SECIL-Outão cement factory. Between 2019 and 2021, collaborated as a Research Fellow with the Center for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRSP) of the Polytechnic of Leiria, conducting research in Chemical and Materials Engineering, with particular emphasis on additive manufacturing and the development of 3D printing materials. Currently a Ph.D. candidate in Materials Engineering, in the final stage of the doctoral program (thesis defense), with research focused on the development of geopolymer cement mortars for extrusion-based 3D printing. The project aimed to develop an environmentally friendly geopolymer cement mortar incorporating industrial inorganic waste streams or by-products, with tailored properties in terms of rheological behavior and mechanical performance. Presently working as a Research Fellow at CDRSP on a project dedicated to the development of new-generation stone-based materials for advanced digital 3D manufacturing. This work explores the integration of waste streams and underutilized raw materials from the natural stone processing industry into the production of innovative, sustainable, and high-value products such as geopolymer cement.
