Gil Serrano is currently enrolled in the Doctoral Programme in Electrical and Computer Engineering, at Instituto Superior Técnico. He concluded the Integrated Master's in Electrical and Computer Engineering, at IST, and the Masterexamen in Systems, Control and Robotics, at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan, Stockholm, as part of a Dual Degree program. He performed his dissertation work in the Dynamical Systems and Ocean Robotics Lab, at the Institute for Systems and Robotics, in the context of allocation and control of hybrid tiltrotor UAVs, studying non-linear optimization and control techniques, within project REPLACE. During his degree, he was awarded three academic merit diplomas and one academic excellence diploma. Gil was a R&D Intern in a research group at Ericsson AB, where he developed and optimized Visual-Inertial SLAM algorithms for multiagent systems. He was also a Research Engineer in the Hybrid Distributed Control Systems group, in the Division of Decision and Control Systems at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan, where he worked on multi-agent systems and cooperative manipulation, within the European projects CANOPIES and LEAFHOUND. In the scope of his current doctoral programme, Gil intends to develop hybrid and distributed allocation, guidance, and control strategies for cooperative On-Orbit Servicing multi-agent systems. The research is going to be developed in a collaboration between ISR and GMV. His research interests include Control Theory, Hybrid and Distributed Control, Multi-agent Systems and Optimization.
