Marina Vale Guedes nasceu em 1986 na cidade do Porto. O seu percurso académico está vinculado à Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto e inicia-se em 2004 com a entrada na licenciatura em Artes Plásticas - Pintura. Após a conclusão deste ciclo de estudos revelou um interesse particular pelo desenho, que se materializou na concretização da dissertação - Retrato Robot: o desenho da identidade ausente - integrada no Mestrado de Desenho e Técnicas de Impressão. A investigação que desenvolveu neste contexto permitiu estender o estudo onde se problematizou o envolvimento do desenho na identificação de indivíduos procurados pelas entidades judiciais, à sua manifesta e diversificada utilidade dentro do campo das ciências forenses. Este enquadramento conduziu, em 2013, ao desenvolvimento da tese de doutoramento - Desenho Forense: genealogias e processos do desenho na investigação criminal, na qual refletiu sobre o contributo do desenho associado à atividade Criminalística, espelhada na investigação de crimes e respetiva identificação dos seus autores. O seu olhar sobre o desenho transcende muitas vezes a ligação ao universo das Belas Artes e vai encontrando pontos de contacto com outras disciplinas ligadas às ciências, nomeadamente na área da Criminologia e da Medicina. Atualmente é Professora de Desenho na Faculdade de Arquitetura, Arte e Design da Universidade do Minho e investigadora no Instituto de Investigação em Arte, Design e Sociedade, associada ao projeto DrawinU. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marina Vale Guedes was born in 1986 in the city of Porto. Her academic journey is linked to the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Porto and began in 2004 when she entered the Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts - Painting. After completing this study cycle, she showed a particular interest in drawing, which materialized in completing her dissertation - Composite Sketch: drawing the absent identity - integrated into her Master's degree in Drawing and Printing Techniques. Her research in this context allowed her to extend the study where she discussed the involvement of drawing in the identification of individuals sought by judicial authorities, to its evident and diverse usefulness within the field of forensic sciences. This framework led, in 2013, to the development of her PHD - Forensic Drawing: genealogies and processes of drawing in criminal investigation - in which she reflected on the contribution of drawing associated with Forensic Science, reflected in the investigation of crimes and the identification of their perpetrators. Her perspective on drawing often transcends the connection to the Fine Arts universe and finds points of contact with other disciplines related to sciences, particularly in Criminology and Medicine. She is currently a Drawing Professor at the School of Architecture, Arts and Design of the University of Minho and a researcher at the Institute of Research in Art, Design and Society, associated with the DrawinU project.
