Mr. Usha Kiran Kumar Sanivada is currently working at the University of Minho, Fibrenamics as a researcher in the project LH4Auto led by Prof. Dr. Raul Fangueiro which aims to provide heating and lighting solutions in the automotive interiors. He is also registered as a Ph.D. candidate in mechanical engineering at the University of Minho-Portugal. His area of research envelops of developing multifunctional hierarchical green composites for semi-structures in the industries like automotive, aerospace, and wind. He has already published 6 SCI articles, 1 conference article, a book chapter, and 4 posters. He has citations 110, 104, 86 in research gate, google scholar and scopus respectively. The article published in Polymers 2020 (Impact Factor 4.429, Citations 77 in research gate, 70 in google scholar, 5 in Scopus) discusses the state of art about the Polylactic acid reinforced with natural fibers, their limitations, and manufacturing techniques. Additionally, an article published in the Journal of Industrial Textiles-2021 (IF 3.372) investigates the effects of hybridization technique and stacking sequence on the mechanical properties of a bio-composite and another in Fibers-2022 (Scopus cite score 4.6) about the effect of carbon-based nanoparticles on the properties of PLA and PHA films. Considering his ongoing work on the composites, the author got an opportunity to write a book chapter titled Hierarchical Vegetal Fiber Reinforced Composites for Springer Nature-2021. The chapter was included in the book Vegetable Fiber Composites and their Technical Applications. In relattion with the LH4 Auto project, he published a review in Molecules-2021 (IF 4.411) about the composites related to the heating applications, and another article in Materials (IF 3.7) that discusses about the Joule heating of cotton fabrics when they are coated with a conductive paste with screen printing technique. Recently in the year 2023, he submitted two articles and they are in review process. He acted as reviwer for Rapid Prototyping Journal, Results in Materials, Key Engineering Materials and Materials Today: Proceedings. Usha also presented his work in the various conferences in Auxdefense 2020 in the form of an extended abstract, poster, and an article. The topic is to review the low-velocity impact performance of a bio-composite. Recently, he presented a poster in Materiais-2022 (Marina Grande-Leiria) on the topic of optimization of processing parameters of a compression molding to produce a polylactic acid composite reinforced with jute woven fabric. An extended abstract and 2 posters was presented in Auxdefense-2022 on the outcomes related to LH4 Auto. Recently, he was accepted for oral presentation for ICNF 2023 Conference to be held in June 2023 on the topic of optimization of procession parameters by using grey relational analysis. Usha has obtained his Masters in Automotive Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire, the UK, and a Bachelors in Mechanical from VITAM from JNTU Hyderabad, India. His Masters thesis involved investigating the catalytic oxidation of carbon-carbon composites. He has teaching and mentoring experience of 6 years. His expertise encapsulates statistical analyses (Minitab), compression molding, extrusion, solvent casting, coating techniques such as knife coating, screen printing, coating using film applicator, Differential-Scanning-Calorimetry, Thermal-Gravimetric -Analysis (Origin), material characterizations (tensile, impact, conductivity, Joule heating).
