I hold a Ph.D. in Sports Science from the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (2021) and graduated in Sports and Physical Activity from the Instituto Superior Politécnico de Viseu (2014). Additionally, I obtained a Master's degree in Sports Science with a specialization in Team Sports from Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (2016). I received a PhD Grant by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia for the project CAMALEÃO - equipamento desportivo inteligente para medição do impacto fisiológico dos exercícios de treino (reference SFRH/BD/122259/2016). During my research, I received another grant for the project Symbiotic technology for societal efficiency gains: Deus exMachina (DEM), which allowed me to work with young talents from different sports, including football, basketball, table tennis, athletics, modern pentathlon, swimming, etc., in Talentódromo Desportivo de Vila Real. My hard work and dedication have paid off, as I have been awarded nine distinctions regarding high-level standard research and scholarly merit. I have published over 30 articles in indexed peer-reviewed journals, five book chapters and one edited book. Additionally, I have presented more than 70 conference abstracts and posters and collaborated with more than 50 researchers in co-authoring scientific publications. The impact on the scientific community can be seen in my h-index of 12 with 355 citations on Web of Science, an h-index of 13 with 381 citations on SCOPUS, and an h-index of 15 with 726 citations on Google Scholar. My publications have gained more than 40000 reads and I have more than 300 followers in ResearchGate. My expertise in Basketball is also ranked in ExpertScape, taking part in the Top 0.7% of 6020 published authors worldwide. I am a member of the Research Center in Sports Sciences, Health Sciences and Human Development (CIDESD), Núcleo de Investigação em Desporto e Exercício Físico (ISCE-Douro), and International Basketball Research Network (Spain). Additionally, I carried out my peer review activity in several journals (e.g., Scientific Reports, Journal of Sports Science & Medicine, Journal of Sports Sciences, Physician and Sportsmedicine, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, etc.). In recognition of my outstanding contribution to the field, I was awarded the 2020 Outstanding Reviewer Award by the Journal of Sport and Health Science (Impact factor = 9.7). Currently, I am a Lecturer at Instituto Superior Politécnico de Viseu and the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, where I conduct lectures in different domains and academic degrees. I have also been a guest lecturer at Escuela Universitaria Real Madrid Universidad Europea, conducting lectures about the theory and methodology of training. In addition to my academic pursuits, I hold a Level II Basketball Coach certification and have various accreditations in the field of strength and conditioning. I have been a basketball coach for youth teams since 2005, and I have also worked as a strength and conditioning coach for the Portuguese U16 Men's Basketball Team, and as a tutor for Level I and II basketball trainees in Federação Portuguesa de Basquetebol.
