António Gaspar Lopes da Cunha: received the title of "Agregado" in Science and Engineering of Polymers and Composites from the University of Minho in 2014 and the PhD degree in Optimization and Modelling of Single Screw Extrusion from the University of Minho in 2000. He is currently an Auxiliary Professor of Polymer Processing at the University of Minho. The main areas of scientific activity are modelling of polymer extrusion based processes and multi-objective Multidisciplinary Design and optimization systems (MO-MDO). The research interests include: modelling of single and twin-screw extrusion processes, optimization and design of single screw extruders, optimization and design of twin-screw extruders, optimization of the plasticization, injection moulding cycle and final part properties, optimization of the blow-moulding polymer process, development of MO-MDO systems for the above processes, modelling of mixing in polymer processing, modelling of the solids conveying zone using discrete element method, robustness analysis, decision making in multi-objective environment and feature selection using multi-objective optimization algorithms. He is (co-)editor of 5 books, author (co-)author of circa of 17 book chapters, 55 papers published in international refereed journals, and more than 130 papers published in proceedings of international conferences. In 2015 was the general chair of the 8th International Conference on Evolutionary Multi-Criterion Optimization (EMO2015) and in 2019 was the general chair of the EUROGEN 2019 international conference.
