I am a Materials Scientist with an extensive experience in advanced electron microscopy. I have well developed skills in cutting-edge instrumentation and techniques, including aberration corrected electron microscopes, as well as relevant knowledge and expertise required for advanced materials characterization. My scientific interests are particularly biased towards characterization of complex structures on micro-, nano- and atomic scale employing: Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Energy Electron Loss Spectroscopy (EELS), Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDS), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Low Voltage SEM and Focused Ion Beam technique (FIB). I have also well-developed skills in multi-slice simulations of atomic resolution images, indispensable for results interpretation. So far I have authored and co-authored 67 articles (citation number: 893) published in international peer-reviewed journals with high impact factor; my Hirsh index is currently 17. On many occasions in my work I have shown ingenuity, and have demonstrated the ability to think outside the box for problem solving and tackling scientific research challenges, beyond the typical materials science applications, what resulted in my co-authored book chapter entitled: “Application of Focused Ion Beam Technique in Taxonomy-Oriented Research on Ultrastructure of Diatoms”. I have taken part and contributed to numerous projects including two large projects funded by the European Union namely: EURATOM-EUROFusion and Graphene Flagship Projects. I have collaborated on many occasions with industrial partners what strengthens my ability for independent, close collaborative industrial project sourcing and management. My areas of expertise are connected with 2D materials, thin films, materials for fusion, semiconductor materials, composites, nanoparticles and hard coatings, CVD, MBE and PVD growth methods. I eagerly welcome new challenges as well as new materials problems, which could be resolved with the help of advanced electron microscopy techniques.
