Vasco Pires Silva da Gama (was born on April 29th, 1957 in Angola, Portugal). His research interests have been focused on the study of molecular conductors, molecular magnetic materials, multifunctional materials and crystal engineering, with emphasis on the crystal packing correlations with the properties of the materials. A considerable part of the work has been dedicated to the study of molecular materials based on building blocks such as TTF type donors and metal bis dithiolene complexes. His interests include also the synthesis and study of hybrid multifunctional materials based on cationic Fe(III) SCO complexes.--------------------------------He completed the PhD in Chemistry in 1993/04/07 by the University of Lisbon Instituto Superior Técnico and Graduation in Chemical Engineering in 1983/08/15 by the University of Lisbon Instituto Superior Técnico. He is Principal Researcher (career) at the University of Lisbon, Instituto Superior, Técnico Campus Tecnológico e Nuclear. He published 68 articles in specialized magazines.
