Marco Alberto
Marco António Curado Alberto concluded his Integrated Master´s degree in Physics Engineering at Faculty of Sciences and Technology,
In the University of Coimbra in July 2017 with a grade of 14/20. Marco was performed his Master Degree at the University
of Coimbra at CFisUC, with the topic “High dielectric constant oxides for CMOS technology”. From this work, it was demonstrated
the possibility of using the muon spin spectroscopy to characterize the hydrogen impurity on the paramagnetic rare-earth oxide
Nd2O3. This project also leads to two scientific communications, and an article was published on Physics Review B, entitled
“Paramagnetic rare-earth oxide Nd2O3 investigated by muon spin spectroscopy”.
After finished is integrated master degree, He gains a research grant integrated on the project MATIS “ Materiais e Technologias
Industriais Sustentáveis”. The objective of this project was the incorporation of nanoparticles of Ag on coating of carbon,
through unbalanced magnetron sputtering. During the project, the obtained results were published on Thin Solid Films Journal
and presented in an international conference.
From December of 2018, Marco applied for a competitive research position at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory
(INL), within the project InovSolarCell. On this work, he learns a lot of characterization techniques such as Scanning Electron
Microscopy (SEM) and x-ray photoelectron microscopy. From this project, he already done two scientific communion and in 2020,
he was accepted to gives three oral communications in three international conferences. Currently, Marco has 3 paper in peer-reviewed
journals.
