Ana Inês Vieitas de Amaral Dias completed the double PhD degree in Physics Engineering with the qualification of Pass with Distinction and Honour by Instituto Superior Técnico/Universidade de Lisboa, and in Physics by Université d'Orléans, in 2018. Concluded a MSc degree in Technological Physics Engineering by Instituto Superior Técnico/Universidade de Lisboa, in 2013. Worked in the past years as Researcher in the Plasma Engineering Laboratory (PEL), N-PRiME Group, at Instituto de Plasmas e Fusão Nuclear (IPFN), Portugal, in the field of low temperature plasma technologies applied to the synthesis of advanced materials (graphene, graphene derivatives, CNTs, polymers, metal nanoparticles and composites) with tailored properties for a variety of applications, including energy conversion and storage, coatings, sensors and theranostics. Task Leader in 2 projects (one FCT project - EAGER PTDC/NAN-MAT/30565/2017; and one 4M€ FET Open Project - PEGASUS H2020 (Grant No. 766894). Supervised 1 MSc student and Mentored/Tutored 5 BSc, MSc and PhD students in Physics and Engineering at IPFN/Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisboa, Portugal, and GREMI-UMR 7344, CNRS, Université d'Orléans, Orléans, France. Published 15 articles, 2 book chapters and participated in more than 40 national and international events (conferences, workshops and summer schools). Over the past years she has built a strong international collaborative networking with groups from: France - Groupe de Recherches sur l´Energétique des Milieux Ionisés (GREMI)-UMR 7344 CNRS/Université d´Orléans; Germany - Institute for Materials Science, at Kiel University, and Synchrotron Bessy II, at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie GmbH (HZB); Slovenia - Department of Gaseous Electronics F6, at Jozef Stefan Institute (JSI); Bulgaria - Faculty of Physics of Sofia University; Norway - SINTEF; Portugal - Centro de Química Estrutural (CQE), Centre of Physics and Engineering of Advanced Materiais and BSIRG/iBB/DEQ, at Instituto Superior Técnico/Universidade de Lisboa.

2014 - 2019 Lab Open Days - As researcher of PEL /IPFN I am invited every year to give an on-site lecture (in the Lab), showing and explaining several experiments mainly related with "Microwave plasmas applied to carbon nanostructures synthesis" topic. These events are major opportunities for PhD and MSc students, alumni and academic community in general to be in contact with the work that is being developed in the Laboratories of the IST Campus. 2016 - 2017 Lab Days -As member of the Research team of GREMI Laboratory, I was invited to give a workshop. In this workshop I showed and explained several experiments mainly related with plasma polymerization using capacitively coupled plasmas and also material charaterization techniques used in the clean room, such as SEM, contact angle, etc (hands-on experience). This event promotes the interaction between researchers, Bachelor, MSc and PhD students, opening new avenues for future collaborations, designing future projects, and exploring career opportunities.
