Dr. Ana Allende from CEBAS in Spain is a Senior Researcher from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) with focus on safety of fresh produce. She has published multiple research articles about the impact of pre- and post-harvest technological interventions in microbial ecology and safety of fresh produce. She has built up more than fifteen years of scientific research but also management experience by executing, initiating and guiding research projects in the area of microbial safety of fresh produce. At this moment, she is PI of research projects granted by the Center of Produce Safety (USA) and the Spanish National Research Program, among others. Since July 2015, she is a member of the BIOHAZ Panel of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
