I graduated in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto in 2019. In 2021 I finished my MSc at CIBIO- Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources - under the supervision of Dr. Fernando P. Lima, Dr. Cátia Monteiro and Dr. Rui Seabra. My MSc thesis was entitled "Fine-scale assessment of distribution limits of intertidal macroalgae species in Northwestern Iberia". The global average score of my undergraduate studies (BSc + MSc) was 16/20. The work associated with my MSc thesis was quite successful, resulting in three datasets published on GBIF (in which I am the first author), two data papers published in the Biodiversity Data Journal (both as first author), and an ecology paper currently under review for publication at Frontiers in Marine Science (in which I share first authorship). This work also resulted in an oral presentation delivered at the 12th International Phycological Congress in 2021. I am currently enrolled in the doctoral program BIODIV (Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution), also at University of Porto. I have also been working on several research projects since 2020, namely the FCT-funded "ThermalBuffer - The buffering effects of upwelling and geomorphology on coastal warming" with Dr. F. P. Lima, CIBIO, as PI; "NORTE_ROCKS - Fine scale mapping, modelling and quantification of thermal habitat in rocky shore ecosystems in Northern Portugal" with Dr. R. Seabra, CIBIO, as PI; "SeeingShore - Understanding and predicting the impact of climate change on coastal habitats" with Dr. Francisco A. Parra, CIIMAR, as PI; and the EU H2020-funded "FutureMARES - Climate Change and Future Marine Ecosystem Services and Biodiversity", led by Dr. Myron Peck, University of Hamburg, Germany. I also received specialized training at the postgraduate level in 2021 through my participation in the "Aquatic Species Distribution Modelling Workshop", at CIIMAR - Centro Interdisciplinar de Investigação Marinha e Ambiental, Porto . In addition, in 2022 I worked three months at ElectricBlue CRL, a non-profit research co-op at CIBIO focusing on the development of innovative tools for environmental monitoring and biologging. My main role was to validate a new methodology to measure biodiversity data in the field, assisted by a novel smartphone app.
