Martinho Marta Almeida has a degree in Atmospheric Physics and completed the PhD in Physics in 2006 (University of Aveiro). He has postdoc experience in Brasil, Portugal, Spain and USA. He published 45 research articles in journals, 5 book chapters and 3 software packages. He has been actively participating in national and international conferences, heaving 70 presentations. He had 2 PhD 2 MSc students. He was Invited Scientist in 2 projects, PhD Student Fellow in 1 project, Post-doc in 6 projects, Principal investigator in 1 Marie Curie project and Researcher in 6 projects. In 2018 and 2020 he won Visiting Professor applications at the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil) where he taught PhD and MSc students from the College of Geosciences. In 2022 he was invited to teach in a post-graduation in Meteorology in Angola. Also in 2022 he was invited to improve the operational modelling capabilities of the Ecuadorian Navy. He works in ocean and atmospheric modelling and climatology. He has very high experience in coastal and estuarine modelling and created modelling configuration for many regions around the world. He has collaborations in Spain , Portugal, China, Brazil and USA. His Scopus metrics indicate h-index 20 and 1138 citations. His Google Scholar metrics indicate h-index 23 (20 since 2017) and 1574 citations (1037 since 2017)).
