¿ Prof. Dr. Losada´s research is aimed at understanding reactions and interactions at the interfaces of colloidal systems to control chemical processes in multiphasic systems. Her research involves the modelization of chemical reactions at interfaces of colloidal systems to understand the role of medium and concentration effects on the distribution of reactants between the different regions of the multiphasic systems with the collaboration of researchers from Universities of Porto (Portugal), Santiago de Chile (Chile) and Rutgers (USA). Her contribution to this is in the edge between the physical organic chemistry and food chemistry, and is mainly focused on the analyses of i) the distributions of antioxidants at the interfaces of multiphasic systems, ii) analyses of the effects of parameters (pH, temperature, nature of the oil and of the antioxidant, etc.) that control their distributions, and iii) the relationships between the distribution of antioxidants and efficiency to inhibit biomolecules oxidation. This research activity resulted in more than 60 original research articles (> 50% in Q1 journals in the last 3 years, h 25 (Scopus), >956 citations to date) and 5 reviews, in high impact international journals including Journal Colloid Interface Science (IF = 8.12, e.g. doi: 10.1016/j.jcis.2019.12.011), Antioxidants (IF = 6.31, e.g. doi: 10.3390/antiox9070623), Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry (IF = 5.279, e.g. doi.org/10.1021/acs.jafc.8b06545) among others. She is corresponding author of 26 of the publications, having participated also in 3 book chapters. Average of number of authors in the articles: 4. Results in the paper ¿Food Chemistry, 175, 233-242, 2015; 10.1016/j.foodchem.2014.10.016¿ were qualified as ¿the best physical evidence to date that the different reactivity seen with different degrees of lipophilization correspond to differences in distribution¿ by experts in the field (Current Opinion in Food Science 4, 19-24,2015). Results have also been disseminated in more than 30 communications in national and international meetings (oral&poster). In addition, this research has also been as result of her participation as team member in 3 projects in last 10 years approved in competitive calls, highlighting 1 Network (REDUSO, Red de Uso Sostenible de Recursos y Residuos, ¿120000), 1 in Portugal (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (Portugal), ¿208234.05) 1 in Spain (10TAL314003PR, ¿111.032.5) and, as IP in 1 project in Galicia (Plan I2C Xunta de Galicia, ¿20000) and 1 project in "Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación" of Spain (PID2022-136443OB-I00). At that time, regular collaborations with international groups since 2005 (USA, Portugal, Poland, UK, France, Chile) which leaded to the publication of several papers have been established.
