Cláudia Alexandra Rocha completed her Bachelor's in Genetics and Biotechnology in 2020 at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD). During her undergraduate studies, she was President of ADNGB, the student nuclei of her course. In this role, she organised multiple scientific events, most notably the XII Conference of Genetics and Biotechnology/ II Iberian Conference that brought together students from UTAD and the University of León in Spain. After a sabbatical year exploring the job market outside of science, Cláudia pursued a Master's in Clinical Laboratory Biology, which she completed in 2024. Her master's thesis, titled "Chronic Application of Low Doses of Ketamine in the Drinking Water of Mice: Renal Effects and Behavioural Responses," provided her with extensive experience in various laboratory techniques, including the analysis of oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptosis parameters demonstrating proficiency in interpretation of complex biochemical assays. Simultaneously, Cláudia worked at Globo Mágico as an academic tutor, providing support to students in the biology field. In 2024, Cláudia's published her first scientific paper, titled "Antinociceptive analysis of natural monoterpenes eugenol, menthol, carvacrol, and thymol in a zebrafish larval model". This work motivated her to further investigate the field of natural analgesic substances, gaining valuable experience in zebrafish larvae handling and behavioural analysis. This research not only expanded her technical skills but also deepened her understanding of the therapeutic potential of natural substances. Cláudia is now eager to leverage her diverse experience and technical skills in a dynamic environment, where she can contribute to innovative scientific advancements and continue her professional growth.
