Angela María Barrera Sandoval
Angela Barrera's career has been devoted to the study of Biomedical Sciences. She started her research path with her Bachelor
and Master programs, at the University of Antioquia in Medellín, in the Neuroscience Group of Antioquia, where she conducted
research emphasized on Neurosciences and Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology, working with in vivo and in vitro models of
neurodegenerative diseases. In 2019 she enrolled to the University of Coimbra in Portugal, as a Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions
(MSCA) Doctoral fellow. During her PhD she has been working on the development of non-viral based nanoformulations to induce
gene editing in various cell populations, including aged cells, using models of age-related diseases.
