Fábio Manuel Santos Rodrigues. Completed his PhD in Chemistry in January 2021 at the University of Coimbra, he also holds a Masters's degree in Advanced Chemistry (2015) and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Chemistry (2013) from the same university. Currently, he works as a researcher at the University of Coimbra on the development of biopolymers with enhanced proprieties funded by a project funded by the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan. Recently, he has worked for LaserLeap Technologies as an assistant researcher and developed postdoc research/supervising activities at Coimbra Chemistry Centre (CQC). He works in Exact Sciences on Chemical Sciences with emphasis on organometallics, synthesis, catalysis, sustainable chemistry, medicinal chemistry and flow chemistry. Over the years, Fábio acquired several soft skills such as teamwork ethics, organization and communication skills, problem-solving experience, and perseverance to overcome daily difficulties. Over his academic formation and work experience, he also developed a set of important technical skills. He has experience in performing several catalysed reactions (e.g. carbonylations, hydrogenation); in this field, he developed N- and P-based ligands to prepare new organometallic catalysts and immobilised catalysts for carbonylation and hydrogenation applications. In these studies, he dealt with the preparation of solutions and management of organic/inorganic compounds under an inert atmosphere using cannula/Schenk techniques, vacuum lines, closed systems and reactors for high-pressure reactions. He is also independent in performing general organic synthetic procedures and the usual purification techniques (e.g. crystallization techniques, flash, thin layer and column chromatography), and characterization techniques (e.g. GC-FID/MS, HPLC, UV/VIS, and IR spectroscopies, 1D and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance technics, mass spectrometry, among others). Sustainable Chemistry represents a strong formation base for Fábio, he developed catalytic sequential processes for the preparation of fine chemicals during his PhD studies and he gained experience in the topics of medicinal chemistry using microwave-assisted synthesis and catalytic sequential processes. Over the last couple of years, his interest in developing synthetic procedures under continuous flow conditions allowed him to lead the implementation of several continuous flow reactions. Fábio dedicates his research to the development of synthetic processes under continuous flow conditions including PET probes, he also intensified his supervision and tutoring activities giving guidance and scientific support to chemistry students and lectures at curricular units from MSc and PhD degrees. He has experience in the interpretation of scientific information such as paper journals in the usual library databases and experience in the dissemination of experimental results as original research papers and communications (oral communications, posters, group seminars). He is the author and co-author of 17 articles published in international journals, 3 book chapters, 1 patent, 17 conference abstracts as oral communications and 28 poster communications in national and international conferences. He contributed to the organization of 14 major events (conferences, workshops, Portuguese Chemistry Olympics) and participated in over 34 scientific events (workshops, conferences, summer schools, courses, among others).
