Antonia Monteiro completed her University degree in Biology in 1992 (Universidade de Lisboa, PT) and obtained her PhD in Evolutionary Developmental Biology in 1997 (University of Edinburgh, UK). She did post-doctoral research at Harvard University (USA) and at Leiden University (NL) before becoming an Assistant Professor first at the University of Buffalo (USA) and later at Yale University (USA). She is now Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore and Yale-NUS College.
