Ana Sousa did her Degree in Sports and Physical Education (2006), Masters in High Performance Sports Training (2010) and her PhD (2015) in Sports Science, at the Faculty of Sports of the University of Porto. She also has a Postgraduate Degree in Rehabilitation in Exercise and Sports Medicine (2015) from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. She developed her Post-Doctorate at the Center for Research in Sport, Health and Human Development (CIDESD, Portugal) where she investigated the combined effect of nitrate supplementation with simulated altitude training with athletes. In parallel with her research activities, she is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Maia, where she is the coordinator of the Masters in Physical Education and Sport Sciences - Specialization in Sports Coaching. She is a member of the Panel of Reviewers of the European College of Sports Science since 2016 and works as a reviewer for several specialist journals. She also assists in the evaluation and periodization of the training of various athletes.
