North Carolina Central University Physical Education & Biology–double major (with K–12 Teaching Certification) 2000 RESEARCH AND SCHOLARSHIP Research Agenda and Scholarship Summary My research agenda focuses on understanding motor development and motor coordination in young children. Specifically, the most salient motor skills needed to be active across the lifespan, the association of these skills to health-related constructs, and the effects of motor skills/motor skill interventions on developmental and behavioral health outcomes. The long-term goal of my work is to cultivate physical health and development through evidence-based interventions to live healthy, active lives. In terms of productivity, I have over 90 peer-reviewed publications along with 6 book chapters and 2 policy reports and have secured over $14 million dollars in extramural funding as a PI/Co-I over the past 12 years. Publications > 5,060 citations; h-index = > 32 (Google Scholar as of 2/2021)
