2018/03/01 - 2018/03/15 As part of the Honours course (equivalent of the first year of Master in the European system) taught at the Evolutionary Studies Institute, University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, I taught a 2 week-long class on modern vertebrate osteology two years in a row (2017 and 2018), during one of my post-doctoral contracts in South Africa. It included a theoretical component about the evolution of vertebrate skeleton structure and a strong practical component that took place in the comparative collections of the institute. Descrição da atividade Jornal / Forum
2016/06/20 Following the first publications on the Homo naledi fossil remains (Rising Star cave system, South Africa) by Lee Berger and his team, a journalist from the New Yorker, Paige Williams, conducted a series of interviews with his collaborators and colleagues in the field of paleoanthropology. I was interviewed about the reply I had recently published in Journal of Human Evolution on the deliberate burial hypothesis proposed by Lee Berger and his team to explain the origin of the hominin remains inside the cave system.
