Leander Luiz Klein is full professor in Public Organizations Management at the Department of Administration, at the Federal University of Santa Maria, one of Brazil's research leading university. Dr. Klein is currently coordinating the Graduate Program in Public Organization Management (PPGOP-UFSM) and is professor of the Graduate Program in Public Administration (PPGAP-UFSM). He is the leader of a CNPQ-Brazil research group entitled "Lean Management", and is active in other Brazilian research groups. His current academic and scientific experiences are in the areas of Lean Thinking, Lean Management, Lean Production, Lean Green and Lean in Higher Education, working on the topics of waste reduction, value, innovation, process management, Green Management and sustainability practices and Circular Economy. In public administration, he has carried out research on the construction and application of instruments to evaluate Lean practices, waste and value from the point of view of the end user/beneficiary. Dr. Klein has 10 years industrial experience in the area of Production Management and Logistics, and has nearly eight years experience in University management. Leander L. Klein holds a PhD in Business Administration from the Federal University of Santa Maria, a Master's in Business Administration from UFSM and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from UFSM. He has international academic experience as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Arizona (USA). He has some research colaborations in Portugal, UK, USA, Spain, and Italy.
