Fábio de Souza Lessa has a master's and doctorate in Social History from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, linked to the Ancient History Laboratory and the Postgraduate Program in Comparative History (PPGHC) of the History Institute of UFRJ and the Postgraduate Program in Classical Literature (PPGLC) from the Faculty of Arts at UFRJ. It integrates the following Research Groups: Laboratory of Ancient History (UFRJ), Sport: Laboratory of History of Sport and Leisure (UFRJ), Center for Studies of Representations and Images of Antiquity (UFF), ATRIUM - Interdisciplinary Space for Studies of Antiquity (UFRJ) and ARCHAI: The Origins of Western thought (UnB). He is a contributing member of the Center for Classical and Humanistic Studies at the University of Coimbra. He has experience in the area of ¿¿History, with an emphasis on Ancient Greece, working mainly on the following topics: History of Gender and Power Relations, Feminine and Masculine in Athens, Construction of Identities and Alterities in the Polis, Greek Body Practices and Sports Practices in Ancient Greece .
