Nabiha Ben Sedrine (NBS) is currently R&D Scientist at Castros S.A. developing innovative solutions in Water-Energy-Food Security Nexus. NBS is representative of the Tunisian Team at the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) since 2018, and Porto Business School Ambassador in Tunisia since 2022. NBS has had several positions in academia (Physics Department of the University of Aveiro and Institute of Nanostructures, Nanomodelling and Nanofabrication - I3N, Linköping University, Université de Franche-Comté and Femto-ST, Centre de Recherches et des Technologies de l'Energie - CRTEn, Ecole Supérieure de Technologie et d'Informatique - ESTI), with several research stays in USA (University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Nebraska), France (C2N, LPN-CNRS Paris), Sweden (Lund University), Spain (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid - UPM, and Institute for Optoelectronic Systems and Microtechnology - ISOM), and Portugal (International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory - INL, Braga). NBS holds a PhD in Physics with international expertise in materials, nanotechnology, optics, characterization techniques and spectroscopy, for innovative and sustainable applications in the areas of illumination, energy harvesting, sensors, among others. NBS participated in several international competitive R&D projects. As an international researcher, analyst and assistant Professor, NBS has had active collaborations with academia and industry in the USA, Europe, Asia and Africa, which has resulted in over 300 refereed journal publications, conference proceedings, books, book chapters, and patents. NBS is a fellow of the Arab Physical Society (APS), was member of the Director Committee (mandate 2010-2012) at Société Tunisienne de Physique (STP) and presently active member in several scientific societies such as: STP, Sociedade Portuguesa de Física (SFP), Associação Nacional de Investigadores em Ciencia e Tecnologia (ANICT), Swedish Institute (SI) Alumni, LiU-Junior Faculty, France Alumni Portugal. NBS is actively involved in several pedagogic activities (teaching, mentoring, and supervision), associations/societies, editorial activities (Assistant Editor in Physics, Materials Science, Astronomy in De Gruyter Open Ltd.), organization/participation of events and international evaluation of publications/projects/academic degrees.
