Paulo Magalhães completed his Law Degree in 1994 by Universidade Católica Portuguesa Faculdade de Direito Escola do Porto, Doctor of Philosophy in Human Ecology in 2017 by Universidade Nova de Lisboa Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, and a Post-Doctorate Certificate in Planning, Urban Planning and Environmental Law in 2020 by Universidade de Coimbra Faculdade de Direito. Dr. Magalhães is a research collaborator at in Universidade do Porto Centro de Investigação Jurídica (CIJ), CEO at the Common Home of Humanity and Member of the General Council in ZERO - Associação Sistema Terrestre Sustentável. Authored and co-authored 12 book chapters, 3 books, and 12 articles in relevant magazines and journals. Helped organizing 4 events, participated in 9 events, and presented orally in over 60 events. Has received 2 awards and/or honors, participated in 3 projects, is currently a principal investigator in a funded project, and a supervisor in 1 project. Doctor Magalhaes' research is centered on harmonization of the global and indivisible functioning of the Earth System with the territorial sovereignty of States.
