I graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSc) at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon, Portugal in 2017. As an MSc student, I had the opportunity of working with plant extracts and to characterize their antifungal applications when encapsulated by silver nanoparticles. Also, as an ERASMUS student at the Aalto University, in collaboration with the University of Helsinki, I studied the anticancer potential of lignin nanoparticles under the supervision of Prof. Hélder Santos and Prof. Mauri Kostiainen. Continuously searching for new opportunities to develop myself as a multidisciplinary healthcare professional, I worked as a trainee at the INFARMED, I.P., in the Medicines Evaluation Department/Post-Marketing Authorization Unit, as well as I also have worked as community pharmacist for 1 year. Currently, I am a PhD student with a FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia) Mixed Fellowship, working at the University of Helsinki and at iMed.ULisboa, under the supervision of Prof. Helena Florindo, in co-supervision with Prof. Hélder Santos. My Ph.D. concerns the development of selenium nanoparticles for cancer immunotherapy.
