Tiago Morgado is a CEEC Individual 2017 FCT Assistant Researcher (DOI 10.54499/CEECIND/04530/2017/CP1393/CT0004) at Instituto de Telecomunicações - Coimbra and an Invited Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Coimbra since September 2013. He possesses comprehensive knowledge and skills in electromagnetics, including theoretical and applied aspects, as well as in antenna theory, electromagnetic wave propagation, and microwave engineering. Tiago Morgado obtained the "Licenciado" degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (specialty of Telecommunications) from the same institution in 2012. He is the leader of the Antennas and Propagation (AP-Co) Group at IT-Coimbra since April 2016. His primary research interests center around electromagnetic metamaterials and their applications, plasmonics, and nanophotonics. Tiago Morgado has published 33 articles in renowned high-impact journals such as Physical Review Letters, Advanced Photonics, ACS Photonics, and Nanophotonics, among others. Additionally, he has delivered over 35 presentations at international conferences, including several invited talks. His current h-index is 16 on Google Scholar, 13 on Scopus, and 12 on Web of Science. In recognition of his work, he received the Young Scientist Award (YSA) at PIERS 2019, a recognition for young scientists under 40 years with distinguished work in the fields of photonics and/or electromagnetism. Throughout his career, Dr. Morgado has actively participated in more than 15 scientific projects (2 as the Principal Investigator), co-supervised 1 PhD dissertation, supervised 4 MSc dissertations, reviewed about 40 journal articles, chaired 4 sessions at international conferences, and served as the local chair of the organizing committee for an international meeting (EIEC 2018) and a member of the organizing committee for the international conference META’19. Additionally, he has organized several special sessions at scientific conferences.
