Sara R. M. M. de Aguiar obtained her PhD in Chemistry with distinction in 2017 from the Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien) under the supervision of Prof. Karl Kirchner. She is currently a Research Fellow in an Applied Materials (AMAT)/National University of Singapore (NUS) financed project, at National University of Singapore. In the last 11 years, she published 17 articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals, presented 4 oral communications and 10 poster communications. Citation metrics in Web of Science (AAG-7871-2021) indicate 15 papers (8 first author) with 162 citations and an h-index of 7. She was a team member in 8 projects financed by FCT (Portugal), FWF (Austria) and ERC (Belgium), and was a Research Fellow in two of these. Since 2016, she mentored 3 bachelor¿s students and 2 PhD students in the field of organometallic chemistry with catalytic purpose and for biomedical applications and in the area of biochemistry. Her researcher interests are in the interface of Exact Chemical Sciences and Natural Biological Science with emphasis on Inorganic Chemistry and Biochemistry. She is skilled in organic and inorganic synthesis for catalytic and nanomedicine applications and more recently is focused on mechanistic studies on metalloproteins.
