Isabel Praça has PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering- Industrial informatics, and a Pos-Doc, awarded by the Portuguese National Science Foundation with a scholarship (SFRH / BPD / 30111 / 2006). She is advisor of ISEP Presidency for R&D, Coordinator Professor at ISEP and Director of the Master on Informatics Engineering. She’s the responsible at ISEP, for the C-Academy and for C-Network, initiatives of the National Office for Security. She was member of the Pedagogical Council of ISEP for 4 years, and Sub-director of the Informatics Engineering Department for 6 years. She teaches on the MSc in AI, being the responsible for the courses Machine Learning 1 and Multi-agent Systems; and on the MSc in Informatics, in the Cybersecurity (CS) branch, where she is responsible for Security of Communications and Infrastructures, and for the Thesis course. She is senior Researcher at GECAD, Research Group on Intelligent Engineering and Computing for Advanced Innovation and Development, UIDP/00760/2020 and UIDB/00760/2020), a R&D unit ranked as Excellent by the Portuguese Science&Technology Foudation (FCT), where she leads a team working on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to cybersecurity (CS) and on the security of AI. She is also member of LASI (Associated Laboratory of Intelligent Systems LA/P/0104/2020), the Portuguese AI Associated Lab recognized by FCT. She is expert of the European Union (EU) Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), working actively in 2 Ad-hoc Working Groups (Security of AI; European Cybersecurity Skills Framework). She is also expert on the EU Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS), taking part on the subgroup ¿Fighting Crime and Terrorism and Critical Infrastructures. She is also representative of ISEP in the European Cybersecurity Organization (ECSO). Isabel was invited by European Comission (EC) as Expert to monitor and assess the execution of HORIZON projects from the topics of AI for CS, and she was evaluator of the HORIZON DEP proposals. She has around 240 scientific publications (55+ in scientific journals; near 3950 citations, h-index 31), participated in 35+ international (e.g. Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020, FP7, ITEA, CELTIC) and national (FCT, QREN, P2020) R&D projects, being PrincipaI investigator (PI) or Co-PI in 18 of them. 8 of the projects (4 H2020, 1 HORIZON DIH, 1 HORIZON-DIGITAL, 1 EUREKA ITEA, 2 EUREKA CELTIC) are international projects, where, apart from coordinating ISEP/GECAD team, she assumed the role of technical, scientific or impact coordinator of the international team. Within the scope of the projects she coordinates or collaborates, she had a strong connection with international and national companies (more than 100 companies), with technology transfer centers (10 centers). She has partnerships with entities from more than 30 countries. In her research and projects AI is successfully applied to different domains: CS: CYDERCO, CyberSec, VALU3S, SATIE, SAFECARE; Industry: SeCoIIA, Cyberfactory, MANTIS, InVALUE, NIS, PIANISM; Energy: SPET, MAS-Society, DREAM-GO, FUSE-IT, M2MGrids, GREEDI. She participates in the technical and scientific committees of several conferences and is an active member of IEEE. She is regularly invited as keynote speaker, some of the recent events: ENISA AI Cybersecurity Conference 2023 on the topic ¿AI benchmarking - objective assessment of AI properties and their role in AI systems safety and security¿; AI world Summit, on the panel ¿The cybersecurity arms race and how generative AI is changing the game¿; and Google ¿Advancing Cyber Security with AI¿. She¿s supervising 4 PhD in the domain of AI security and data privacy, she¿s been responsible for 3 research contracts and 45 MsC thesis, 38 of them finished. Participated in 5 juries for hiring researchers and 19 for junior researchers.
