Vitor Monteiro is an Assistant Professor and a PhD Researcher, performing activities in the Department of Industrial Electronics, University of Minho, Portugal. In 2010, he received the MSc degree in Industrial Electronics and Computer Engineering and, in 2016, he received the PhD degree in Electronics Engineering and Computers with a specialization in Power Electronics and Energy (maximum classification of Very Good, approved unanimously), both from the University of Minho. Nowadays, he is the Principal Investigator at the University of Minho of the: (i) European Union Project “E2GO: Researching new cost-effective solutions for battery buffered fast-charging station (No. 101072414)”, which is a European-funded Marie Sklodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks; (ii) National Project “ATE Alinaça para a Transição Energética (C644914747-00000023 / 56)”, which is an Alliance for the Energy Transition in Portugal. He was the Principal Investigator of an FCT project (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-030283). His research activities are being developed in the ALGORITMI Research Centre, University of Minho, where he is an Integrated PhD Researcher in the Industrial Electronics R&D Group and, within that, he is a member of the Group of Energy and Power Electronics. He is an IEEE Senior Member, Vice-Chair of the IEEE PES (Power & Energy Society) Portugal Section Chapter, and Member of societies: IEEE IES, IEEE PELS, and IEEE PES. His main research interests are related to power electronics applied to electric mobility, renewables, solid-state transformers (smart transformers), active power filters, power quality, energy storage systems, hybrid AC/DC grids, efficiency, smart grids, smart homes, smart cities, railway systems, wireless power transfer, and industrial applications. The research in these areas resulted in more than 30 power electronics prototypes (involving hardware design and construction and software programming). He is the author or co-author of 222 scientific papers, all subject to a scientific referee (69 international journal papers, 157 international conference papers, and 10 book chapters). He is now the supervisor of 2 PhD students and 26 MSc students. He was the supervisor of 1 PhD student, 33 MSc students, and 50 students developing 20 projects under MSc studies. Since the conclusion of his PhD, he participated on the jury of 36 MSc Dissertations, and the jury of 1 PhD Thesis Plan. In the Scopus database, he has 193 papers, 2181 citations, h-index 24. In the Publons database, he has 153 papers, 1355 citations, h-index 17. In the Google Scholar database, he has 264 papers, 3450 citations, h-index 30. Regarding activities as Editor, he is: Associate Editor of the Journal IEEE Access; Associate Editor of the Journal IET Power Electronics; Associate Editor of the Journal IEEE Latin America Transactions; Topic Editor of the Journal MDPI Electronics; Editorial Board Area Editor of the Journal EAI Endorsed Transactions on Energy Web. Vitor Monteiro has editorial experience in several journals (IEEE Access; IET Power Electronics; ELSEVIER Transportation Engineering; IEEE Latin America Transactions; MDPI Energies; MDPI ESA; SPRINGER Control, Automation and Electrical Systems; WILEY –Electrical and Computer Engineering - Power Systems; Frontiers in Energy Research; Frontiers in Future Transportation; IEEE Transportation Electrification Community eNewsletter). He served as an international reviewer for 2 projects, 471 journal papers, and 227 conference papers. He participated in 51 international conferences (with oral presentations) and in the organization of 19 conferences and symposiums. He acted as: 5 conferences general co-chair (and editor of proceedings), 5 special session organizer, and 20 program committee member. He participated in the preparation of more than 30 national and international project applications.
