As a researcher for The Health & Technology Research Center (H&TRC) at the Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde de Lisboa, I specialize in microbial exposure assessment, and public and environmental health and occupational health. I completed my master’s degree in applied microbiology and my bachelor’s degree in environmental health science. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have published 12 articles so far, in specialized journals, including the most recent "Microbial contamination in grocery stores from Portugal and Spain: the neglected indoor environment to be tackled in the scope of the One Health approach" (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.scitotenv.2023.162602) and "Comprehensive assessment of occupational exposure to microbial contamination in waste sorting facilities from Norway" (https://doi.org/10.3389/fpubh.2023.1297725). I also contributed to two book chapters related to these topics ("Microbial occupational exposure assessments in sawmills and microbial assessment in grocery stores"). My research interests include mycology (fungal characterization, mycotoxins production, and azole resistance), bacteriology (airborne bacteria, MRSA, endotoxins), and environmental and occupational exposure in various settings. I have been involved in several projects, including the Occupational Exposure of Waste Workers' and Exposure to Bioburden in the Truck Cabin during Waste Management (CML-HTRC; https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jenvman.2022.115086). Furthermore, I have collaborated with a chapter (“Screening of fungal azole resistance in different environmental samples” [https://doi.org/10.1016/B978-0-12-819990-9.00017-2]) for a Mycology Encyclopaedia. In addition, I have worked in other research projects such as "AIR QUALITY IN SPORT FACILITIES: DEEP INSIGHT ON ULTRAFINE PARTICLES AND ON THE POTENTIAL PUBLIC HEALTH RISKS" (SFRH/BD/147185/2019) and "MICROBIOLOGICAL CONTAMINATION PRESENT IN THE INDOOR AIR" (CESAM-UA) and the most recent and EU funded “Identifying determinants for indoor air quality and their health impact in environments for children: measures to improve indoor air quality and reduce disease burdens – INCHILDHEALTH” (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101056883). I believe that my ongoing work aligns directly with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, to Impact the school occupants 'health and well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, to impact learning conditions, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, with impacts on efficiency affecting all sustainability dimensions – social, economic and environmental sustainability, and SDG 13: 13 Climate Action, as good indoor air quality, optimal ventilation, healthy buildings, promote a healthy environment.
