Nausica Palazzo is Assistant Professor of Constitutional Law at NOVA School of Law, where she works in the areas of Family Law, Constitutional Law and Sexual Policy. She graduated in Law from Bocconi University in 2014, obtained an LL.M. at the University of Michigan Law School and holds a Doctorate in Comparative Law (cum laude) at the University of Trento, with a thesis on the legal recognition of nontraditional families in Canada, the United States and Europe. For the completion of her thesis, she received grants from six institutions, including Fulbright. Before joining NOVA, Nausica was Adjunct Professor of Public Law at Bocconi University and a postdoctoral fellow at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She was a visiting researcher at the European University Institute in Florence and at McGill University. Nausica is particularly interested in queer approaches to family law, critical approaches to anti-discrimination law and theory, comparative constitutional law and the relationship between gender and religious norms in illiberal regimes. Nausica has published articles in these areas in specialized journals such as the Columbia Journal of Gender and Law, the Michigan Journal of Gender and Law, and the Oñati Socio-Legal Series. Her latest book “Legal Recognition of Non-Conjugal Families” was released in February 2021 by Hart Publishing and in 2022 a co-edited collection on queer/religious alliances in Family Law will be published by Anthem Press.
