Leonor Pina de Freitas holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Criminology from Lusíada University of Porto. In 2022, she enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Criminology at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto, securing funding for her doctoral research, titled "Reactive and Proactive Aggression: A Biosocial Approach," from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) in September 2023. In January 2023, she joined the Center for Legal and Environmental Studies (CEJEA) at Lusíada University as a guest researcher, where she remained until September 2023. She is currently a junior researcher at the Interdisciplinary Research Center on Justice at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto. In 2022, she made her debut at the EUROCRIM 2022 conference in Málaga, presenting her master's research through a poster presentation. In November 2023, she participated in the annual meeting of the American Society of Criminology (ASC) in Philadelphia, delivering an oral presentation on her master's work and the results she has obtained. While her interests span various areas of Criminology, both her master's research and her doctoral work are focused on Biosocial Criminology. These investigations aim to deepen her understanding of the interactions between social, biological, and environmental factors.
