Maximilian Kopylovich (further - MK) graduated with specialization in Chemical Engineering from the Byelorussian State Technological University (BSTU, 1993) and completed his PhD degree in Chemistry (1998) at the same Institution. Then MK worked as a post-doctoral fellow (1999-2007), auxiliary (2008-2013), senior (2014-2018) and contracted (2019-2021) researcher at the Centro de Química Estrutural, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Portugal. MK was a recipient of post-doc grants from FCT (Portugal), PRAXIS XXI (1999) and POCTI (2004) Programs, working contracts from IST and FCT within the "Ciencia 2007" and "Investigador 2013" Programs. MK was/is a Principal Investigator of 4 projects and a team member of other 6 Projects. 4 master, 3 post-graduate students and 4 post-docs were/are (co-)supervised by him. MK assisted laboratory courses (Química I and Química II) at Instituto Supérior Técnico, supervised laboratory activities of a number ERASMUS/SOCRATES or Marie Curie research training students, lectured courses on "Advanced Strategies of Synthesis" and "Homogeneous Catalysis" and guided "Specialization Laboratories" for MSc students. MK was a co-editor of 2 books of international circulation; his publication record contains more than 160 peer-reviewed publications, including ca. 140 research papers in ISI journals (>5200 citations, average citations per item 34.1; h=45), 15 chapters in books or reviews, 11 patents, about 80 conference presentations. MK was a member of several academic Juries for admission and progression in academic careers, member of organizing committees of several international conferences and is referee for various scientific journals. Scientific interests of MK lay mainly within synthetic chemistry and catalysis. Thus, MK contributed to new methods of synthesis of triazapentadienato-, aminopolyalcoholato-, arylhydrazo-, iminoisoindolinone, tetrazolato-, pentane-2,4-dione-, piperazine-, 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane etc. complexes of various metals. Such representatives of the newly synthesized compounds as phthalocyanines, coordination polymers, inorganic-organic hybrid and composite dispersed materials were studied as new catalysts, drugs, dyes, ionophors and non-linear optical materials. Practical significance of the performed studies is supported by a number of acquired patents. Current research interests of MK are related to the syntheses of new materials and their applications.

  4. Microwave-assisted and solvent-free peroxidative oxidation of 1-phenylethanol to acetophenone with a CuII-TEMPO catalytic system. The water-soluble copper(II) complex [Cu(H2R)(HL)]center dot H2O (1) was prepared by reaction of copper(II) nitrate hydrate with (E)-2-(((1-hydroxynaphthalen-2-yl)methylene)amino) benzenesulfonic acid (H2L) and diethanolamine (H3R). It was characterized by IR and ESI-MS spectroscopies, elemental and X-ray crystal structural analyses. 1 shows a high catalytic activity for the solvent-free microwave. 2014. Halogen-bonded tris (2,4-Bis(trichloromethyl)-1,3,5,triazapentadienato)-M(III) [M = Mn, Fe, Co] complexes and their catalytic activity in the peroxidative oxidation of 1-phenylethanol to acetophenone. One-pot template condensation of CCl3C=N with ammonia on a metal source [MnCl2 center dot 4H(2)O, FeCl3 center dot 6H(2)O or Co(CH3COO)(2)center dot 4H(2)O] in DMSO led to the formation of tris(2,4-bis(trichloromethyl)-1,3,5-triazapentadienato)-M(III) complexes, [M(NH=C(CCl3)NC(CCl3)=-NH}(3)]center dot n(CH3)(2)SO [M = Mn, n = 1 (1); M = Fe, n = 2 (2); M = Co, n = 2 (3)1, which were characterized. 2014.   6. Cooperative metal–ligand Assisted E/Z isomerization and cyano activation at CuII and CoII complexes of arylhydrazones of active methylene nitriles.
