Curriculum Vitae

Inês Vaz is a PhD student at NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities, and integrated researcher at CHAM (Centre for Humanities). Pursuing a degree in Modern Literatures and Cultures, the focus of her research is fantasy fiction. Holding a MA degree in English and North-American Studies from the same institution, her master's dissertation looked at female renditions of the monomyth in children's fantasy literature. Research interests include: fantasy, children’s and young adult fiction, literature and other media, adaptation, animation, fairy tale studies, gender studies, steampunk, and neo-Victorianism.
