Giordano Cotti obtained his Ph.D. in Geometry and Mathematical Physics at the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA) in Trieste (Italy) on the 19th of September 2017. He works in the area(s) of Exact Sciences with emphasis on Pure Mathematics (Geometry and Mathematical Physics). He currently is FCT Researcher of the Grupo de Física Matemática da Universidade de Lisboa (recently moved from Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa to Instituto Superior Técnico). Before that he was a Postdoctoral fellow at Max-Planck-Institut fu¨r Mathematik in Bonn (Germany), a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the School of Mathematics of the University of Birmingham (UK), being a member of an EPSRC project, and a Visiting Researcher at Hausdorff Institute for Mathematics Bonn (Germany). He is author and coauthor of 15 papers, of which 13 have already been published (top journals: Duke Math. Journal, Int. Math. Res. Not., Journal de Math. Pures et Appl., Moscow Math. Journal, Journal London Math.Soc., Letters in Mathematical Physics, Springer Lecture Notes in Math.). He recently won a research individual grant (2021.01521.CEECIND) for a 6 years FCT Researcher position (Junior level), by ranking 1st for Mathematics (2nd for Mathematics and Computer Science). He also recently won an exploratory project grant (2022.03702.PTDC) of which he is PI. He delivered 38 seminars and lectures at international workshops and conferences. He organized 5 events: one in Trieste (Italy), one in Bonn (Germany), one in Recife (Brazil), and two in Lisboa (Portugal). He taught 4 courses: an undergraduate course in Trieste (exercises in Linear Algebra for Engineers), two short Ph.D. courses in Lisbon, and a master students course in geometry at the Faculdade de Cie^ncias da Universidade de Lisboa. He supervised an MSc Thesis in Birmingham, and he is supervising an MSc Thesis in Lisboa. Post-doctoral mentoring activity: 3 post-docs. In 2018 he was awarded the Lutman Prize for Mathematics by SISSA.
