Manuel António Cunha Teixeira completed the PhD in Geology on 2021/04/26, Approved with Distinction and Praise, by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. He also has a Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems and Spatial Planning, completed on 2012/12/13, and a Degree in Geography and Spatial Planning, completed in 2006/07/31, both in the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto. He has published 6 articles in international peer-reviewed journals (ISI), 1 in a national journal and 1 book chapter(s) and participates in 3 research projects related with submarine landslide-driven hazards. He works in the scientific domain of Natural Sciences with an emphasis on Earth and Environmental Sciences focusing on Geology and natural hazards. Manuel mostly works with mass movement processes and deals with multibeam bathymetry, multichannel seismic data, and sediment (phyisical, geochemical, and geotechnical) properties. He is a Researcher at the Instituto Geofísico do Infante Dom Luiz (IDL), University of Lisbon, currently working on the project UNTIeD (UNlocking the megaTsunamI Deadlock: using the near-source impacts to constrain tsunami generation by volcanic flank collapses), focusing on the morphological analysis of the submarine volcanic flanks of Santiago Island. In his Science Vitae curriculum, the most frequent terms in the context of scientific production are: Geographic Information Systems; Landslide activity; Slope stability and landslide susceptibility analysis; Physically-based / mathematical slope stability modelling.
