Pouria Amouzadrad is a PhD student (FCT scholarship holder) at Centre for Marine Technology and Ocean Engineering (CENTEC), Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa. He received his B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering in 2014 and his M.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in offshore structures, in 2017 from SRBIAU, Tehran, Iran. His M.Sc. research focused on the numerical simulation of static and dynamic pile–soil interaction in an offshore Jacket platform using SACS-based FEA. He subsequently obtained a second M.Sc. degree in Marine Technology in 2019 from École Centrale de Nantes, France, where his research addressed the acceleration and validation of fluid–structure interaction simulations for slender bodies through a co-simulation framework. He began his PhD studies in 2020, while his PhD topic includes the hydroelastic response of offshore floating flexible structures. He developed a couple of theoretical model formulations and the numerical designs of the floating flexible platform by implementing ANSYS AQWA-based BEM code for the validation of the analytical model and mooring lines design. Especially, he implemented AQWA to model the multi-body floating offshore platforms subjected to multiple environmental conditions and then compared with the analytical models formulated by himself. The analysis and understanding of the hydroelastic response of floating flexible platforms, with applications toward the offshore renewables, will contribute to an accurate structural dynamic assessment of the proposed platform. His principal research interests lie in the areas of hydroelasticity, structural modeling, numerical analysis, computational simulation, and optimization techniques applied to VLFSs for integration of different applications in the offshore regions as a multi-use platform. In his curriculum Ciência Vitae the most frequent terms in the context of scientific, technological and artistic-cultural output are: Offshore Structures; Ocean Renewable Energy; Hydroelasticity; Hydrodynamics & Wave-Structure Interactions.
