In 2023 I finished the Health Sciences Master’s degree program from the Health and Life Sciences Research Institute (ICVS), from the University of Minho, in Braga, with a final grade of 19/20. In the second year I started my thesis project named “Characterization and biological impact of medulloblastoma immune profile”, under the supervision of Dr. Rui Manuel Reis in partnership with his team from the Cancer Hospital of Barretos in Brazil and the Tumor and Microenvironment Interactions team from the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health, in Porto. I’ve concluded the project with a grade of 20/20. For this I developed microarray and RNA sequencing analysis skills with the R software through online courses, help from colleagues and other available sources. Additionally improved my cell culture skills and developed and characterized 3D spheroid models using cell lines. This project enabled 4 poster and 2 oral presentations in congresses and symposiums. Importantly, it resulted in my first published scientific article. In 2023 our team was awarded a grant for the project "Role of CD24, an immune checkpoint, in the biology and therapy of medulloblastoma". After the master's became a research fellow at ICVS under that same project. Accepted for the FCT Doctoral Fellowship 2024 with the project "Unravelling the role of CCL18 in promoting colorectal cancer aggressiveness".
