Eliza Fragkopoulou is a postdoc researcher at CCMAR, University of the Algarve, studying how climate change is affecting and will further affect the distribution and genetic diversity of marine species, at global scales. Her work is focused on marine species distribution models for past, present and future conditions based on different climate change scenarios. She has experience in meta-analyses and biodiversity data compilation under the framework of open science and the FAIR principle for findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable data. The outcomes of her research are completely aligned with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Members. Working at the Center of Marine Sciences (recurrently classified as excellent in national evaluations) has resulted in collaborations with several national and international teams (e.g., from Norway, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Denmark).
