Paula Cardoso holds a PhD degree in Education and specialises in Distance Education and eLearning. She is Associate Professor at the Polytechnic of Leiria and a Full Researcher at LE@D - Universidade Aberta (LE@D). She is also a member of the GO-GN Research Network - Global OER Graduate Network, created by UNESCO and Member of the Centre for Tourism Research, Development and Innovation (CITUR). Former Assistant Editor of the European Journal of Tourism, Hospitality and Recreation - EJTHR, Paula Cardoso has authored and co-authored several papers and participated in major international conferences related to her research fields. She also holds a Creative Commons Certificate for Educators and has been involved in multiple international projects that involve programme design, planning and implementation, which includes accreditation of formal, informal and non-formal learning experiences and digital badges as microcredentials. (run-eu.eu), Skills 4 Future: Pedagogical Innovation (https://www.ipleiria.pt/innovativepractices/) and is currently designing and preparing a national MOOC entitled “Transforming assessment mindsets: Professional development through a blended MOOC” accredited by the Portuguese Ministry of Education. She has recently coordinated an institutional team dedicated to the implementation of microcredentials at institutional level and is currently involved in an international team responsible for creating new joint educational opportunities across RUN-EU focused on future and advanced skills required for societal transformation, which includes the design and implementation of a microcredential ecosystem within the European alliance.
