Marc Veldhoen. Completed the Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Immunology in 2003/05 by National Institute for Medical Research and Master in Medical Biology in 2000/08 by Universiteit Utrecht. He was a postdoctoral scientist at the NIMR/Mill hill, London, UK before becoming a Senior Investigator Scientist. He set up his own lab in 2010 in Cambridge, UK. He was Principal Investigator at Instituto de Medicina Molecular from 2016 - 2024. Since 2024 he is a senior PI at the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine and Professor of Basic Immunology at the Universidade de Lisboa Faculdade de Medicina since 2018 He published >100 articles in journals, with >24.000 citations including in Nature, Science and Cell. Has 1 book(s). Has received 4 awards and/or honours. Participates and/or participated as Principal investigator in over 25 project(s). Has successfully supervised 6 PhD students, co-supervised many others, numerous MSc, Erasmus and undergraduate students, and 8 postdoctoral researchers. He reviews for many journals (Nature, Nature Immunology, Science, Science Immunology, Immunity, etc), grant funding bodies (ERC, MRC, NWO, ANR, etc), serves on the editorial board of European journal of Immunology, International Immunology and Frontiers Immunology and is the Editor-in-Chief for Immunity, Inflammation and Disease.
