Currently pursuing the Phd in Medical Chemistry at the University of Coimbra on Porphyrins: the nexus between broad-spectrum antiviral photodynamic therapy and photosensitive life-support medical devices, supervised by Prof. Mariette Pereira, and co-supervised by Prof. Vanderlei Bagnato and Prof Miguel A.R.B. Castanho. B.Sc. in Medicinal chemistry in 2019 - University of Coimbra - with an average of 15/20. Master's degree Thesis in Medicinal Chemistry on "Development of cationic photosensitizers for photoinactivation of microorganisms" - with an average of 18/20. Awarded the top 3% Best Students Award successively in 2019 and 2020. Selected to participate in two mobility programs: USA (2012-2013) with AFS intercultural programs and Australia (2018) with the AEN-Utrecht Network. 3 articles published, 1 article under revision; Presented 5 posters: 1 at the XXVI SPQ encounter in Portugal, 2019; 3 poster presentation at the International Conference on Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines and 1 poster and 1 Flash communication at the 14th National Organic Chemistry Meeting & 7th National Medicinal Chemistry;. Co-inventor in a patent (PPP116946); 7 oral communications 1 at the XXIX European Colloquium on Heterocyclic Chemistry, 1 at the 18th International Photodynamic Association World Congress, 1 at the XXVI Encontro Galego Portugués De Química Congress 1 at the XXVIII Encontro Nacional da SPQ and 3 at the Portuguese Young Chemists Meeting (Portugal) in 2021 and 2023 as a result of being selected for the final phase of the first and second National SPQ Retrosynthesis Competition. Won the second national retrosynthesis competition of SPQ in 2023. Was awarded 2 merit-based scholarships: 2020 FCT Summer School in Medicinal Chemistry; and Chemistry Research Center 2019. Successfully completed the second modular training in Laboratory Animal Science in 2019. Did an internship at PorphyChem in Dijon, France in 2020 and at the University of Heidelberg, Germany in 2021. Was elected 3 times Chapter Coordinator for AFS Portugal and represented the University of Coimbra for the national university championship of judo (2019).
