Biochemist with a PhD in Biochemistry, specialization in Molecular/Cell Biology, from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, Coimbra University, Portugal, in collaboration with Lund University, Sweden. She has two postdocs: one in Microbiology and Immunology of Infection, from the Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (IBMC), Porto, and the other in Cell Division and Molecular/Cell Biology, from the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S), University of Porto, Porto. Assistant Professor at Escola Superior de Saúde do Norte da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa, Oliveira de Azeméis, where she was responsible for teaching Biochemistry and Microbiology for Nursing graduation students, as well as Laboratory Assistant Professor on the advanced PhD course in Cell Culture at Lund University, Sweden. Currently, she is a Junior Research Scientist at the Institute for Biomedicine (iBiMED), Aveiro University, in the fields of Biomedical and Health Sciences, subareas of Pharmacoepidemiology, Clinical Research and Public Health. Tânia Magalhães Silva has attended various training programs in Pharmaceutical Medicine and Clinical Research and has the Clinical Investigator Certification Level I (CLIC I), in compliance with the European PharmaTrain Syllabus, dedicated to medical sub-investigator and non-medical staff. She has published more than 12 papers in ISI web of knowledge in different fields of interest, including, Biochemistry, Cancer, Infection and Immunity, Immunology, Molecular and Cell Biology and Analytical Chemistry and presented more than 30 relevant oral and poster communications in both national and international conferences. She was invited to be a Discussion Leader and a Speaker, respectively in 2011 and 2015, at the most prestigious conference of her doctoral studies field of expertise (Gordon Research Conference on Polyamines), in USA. She is a member of the Portuguese Biochemistry and Immunology Societies and a reviewer in 4 International Journals. She is also a member of the editorial team of the publisher IntechOpen. During her career, she was awarded with national and international grants and prizes, she mentored, taught and supervised undergraduate and master students and has organized and managed many successful scientific events dedicated to Careers in Science, mostly for researchers and PhD students in Biomedical and Life Sciences. She was also team member of several financed research projects (FCT, Norte2020, QREN and ERC) over the last 10 years.
