António Manuel Santos Tomás Jordão is currently Coordinator Professor of Oenology at Polytechnic Institute of Viseu - Agrarian Higher School, Portugal. He is graduated in Agro-Industrial Engineering and has a Master in Food Science and Technology from Technical University of Lisbon. In 2006, obtained a PhD in Agro-Industrial Engineering at Agronomy Higher Institute of Technical University of Lisbon. In recent years, he held several academic positions (Vice-President of the Agrarian Higher School, Vice-President of Scientific Council and Director of Food Industries Department). Coordinator of Viticulture and Oenology Technical Course from Polytechnic Institute of Viseu. Member of several research projects in Food Science and Technology, Viticulture and Oenology area and scientific editor of two books of Oenology, one of Grape Production and one about Phenolic Compounds. He is author/co author of 44 articles in peer reviewer scientific journals, 14 book chapters and a total of 112 communications in scientific congress. Member of editorial board of scientific journals. Supervisor of several Master Thesis in Oenology, Food Science and Food Technology. Develops consultancy services to wine companies, research projects evaluation for Portuguese National Innovation Agency and Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia. The main research interests are: grape and wine composition; wine technology (particularly the use of wood in wine production/aging).
