Marisa da Silva Martins is a PhD student in Literary Studies, specializing in Children's Literature at University of Aveiro. She has completed the Advanced Studies program in Modern Languages and Literatures in Literary Studies at NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities, where she has also completed her Master's degree in Modern Literatures and Cultures (English and North-American Studies). She is a researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History/IN2PAST. She is a member of the Portuguese Association for Anglo-American Studies (APEAA). She has presented papers in international conferences mainly on Children's Literature and Ecocriticism. Apart from this, her research interests also include Animal Studies, Postcolonialism, Food Studies, Victorian and Edwardian Eras, as well as Ancient Egypt. As a dedicated and passionate private tutor specializing in Portuguese, English, and History, she has spent six years helping students excel academically and develop essential skills for their future. Her teaching philosophy centers on fostering logical thinking, efficient writing, and reading abilities. Through personalized tutoring sessions, she aims to empower her students to achieve their academic goals, build confidence in their abilities, and make them appreciate Literature and History.
