Raquel Pinto Rocha graduated in Chemical Engineering and concluded her PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering in March 2018, where she has gained extensive expertise in developing carbon-based materials for liquid-phase reactions. After completing the PhD, she has been working as a Post-doc Researcher at LSRE-LCM to develop nanostructured based carbon materials for catalysis and energy applications. Raquel P. Rocha is the first author in 11 articles, and co-author in 19, published in international scientific journals with peer review, 11 of them in the Q1 quartile. Her works have been cited in more than 980 documents (Scopus, 2021/02/18), more than 500 citations in the last 5 years (h-index = 18). The large majority of her work has been focused on innovative nanocarbons for catalytic and electrocatalytic fields. Her PhD work has been awarded with a "Second place distinction" in the competition for the 2019 Carbon Journal Prize for "an outstanding Ph.D. thesis in carbon materials science and technology. Also, she has been invited as a referee for scientific publications in several high-impact journals, such as the Chemical Engineering Journal, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, Separation and Purification Technology, Applied Surface Science. More recently, she was guest editor of the Catalyst Journal special issue on "Novel Heterogeneous Catalysts for Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs)". Raquel P. Rocha is an active science disseminator, having participated in more than 25 international and national scientific meetings, 18 in the last 5 years, 9 as an oral speaker in some of the most important international conferences on carbon science and applications (Carbon Conference; EuropaCat; CICat; CESEP; CarboCat). In the recent past, she gained experience in the organisation of scientific meetings (3 Abstract Books co-edition) and summer schools and in some events for science communication to the general public. She is co-principal investigator at the BiCat4Energy project to develop carbon-based noble metal-free bifunctional electrocatalyst for Unitized Regenerative Fuel Cell. She is a team member of a recently approved project CORKCAP for the development of cork based electrodes for supercapacitors. Since 2019, she supported and supervised PhD , master and bachelor students at LSRE-LCM and, other undergraduate short-term exchange students. She has participated in scientific collaborations, a with researchers from Spain, Brazil, Serbia and with some national R&I groups.
