Nísia Martins is enrolled in PhD Degree in Biomedical Sciences at Algarve Biomedical Center Research Institute (ABC-RI), granted by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT). The PhD project relies on how the temporal control of cell differentiation is achieved, specifically at the level of epigenome dynamics during early stages of development. Nísia concluded a Master's Degree in Molecular Genetics and Biomedicine in January 2022 at NOVA School of Science and Technology - FCT NOVA, where she previously obtained a Bachelor's degree in Cell and Molecular Biology in June 2019. She also concluded a Post-Graduate Course on Laboratory Animal Science in 2021/09/24 by Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon. She has great command over a highly diverse range of laboratory equipment and techniques (namely electroporation, in situ hybridization, RT-qPCR, immunohistochemistry, maintenance of tissue and organs from cellular and animal models and protein/DNA/RNA quantification in tissue). She also has knowledge of standard Bioinformatic tools and analysis of experimental data. Nísia also has concluded of the 5th grade of Guitar, Orquestra and Musical Education. Works in the area of Natural Sciences with emphasis on Biological Sciences. Her research fields of interest include Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine.
